Ghoulish Clarity

That's the name of my new cardigan (feel free to click this link to my project page, it's got details like pattern, yarn and needles used and mods made, etc). I'm so excited to have this really finished. The ends are woven in, the buttons are sewn on, the FO shots are done! Whoot whoot! And it looks terrific.

I still need to get some photos of it out-in-the-wild but for now I'm happy. I also finished up the finishing up of a few cowls and dishcloths. I think I'm rocking through the WIPs pile because today, finally, the temp was not -15C when I woke up. Instead it was above zero! Can you believe it? Winter may be done!

Oh I sure hope so!

Video to share

If you can, take a moment this morning to watch this video made by Dove. It's really quite amazing and worth sharing.

Happy Thursday.

Yarn Along - Sunny Days Ahead?

Oh I sure hope so! It's beautiful this morning but chilly. I'm hoping that the temperature keeps inching up... I'm heartily sick of winter.

Today I am joining Ginny for another Yarn Along.

I started a test knit and can't show you much but that's ok, I haven't gotten very far anyway...

I'm happy to be using up some odds and sodds in my worsted weight bin. This project fits perfectly in the bag that Katherine made me.

I'm reading Finding Your North Star by Martha Beck. I have paper and a pen out as I read so I can do the exercises. I'm only a few chapters in but I hope to get through more of it this weekend.

Yarn Along

It's Wednesday again and here I am joining Ginny for her yarn along.

I got my book in the post last week. I'm only a few chapters in but so far it's making me itchy to get on the water. Unfortunately winter is hanging on with a icy cold grip and that won't be happening for at least another 6 weeks.

The knitting part of this post is actually crochet. I'm making another granny square blanket using this pattern. It's a gift but it isn't due until next month. I think if I get half a dozen more squares done, I'll have enough to start seaming...

Ahh, the joys of granny squares... : )

Cheveron Chapeau

I had the pleasure to test knit Knitting Knirvana's newest pattern, the Cheveron Chapeau recently and I love this hat! What a versitile, fun pattern.

The sizing ranges from baby to adult large which is seriously cool for a hat pattern (you could make one for everyone you know!) and the colour combo ideas are endless I tell you! In fact I'm thinking of a scrappy version, which I'm going to have to cast on asap...

I knit the adult large size with B in mind but almost before I bound off I knew that this would make a great slouchy hat for me.

Like I said, it's a cute easy pattern that uses just small amounts of leftover worsted weight yarn. I used half a skein of Lark in the gingerbread colourway and about 75 yards of a mystery lambs wool that I've had for ages (love this stuff).

Even better, Suzanne has a coupon code up for a limited time... "You can purchase it on Ravelry for $4, but use this special coupon code (thankyou) that will give you a dollar off though Saturday April 13, 2013."

I know, I'm cute...
I had a fun little photo shoot with the Superstar before super tonight. I seriously think I'll be wearing this hat for the rest of the winter/spring.

Hope

Really... Even though the snow in the garden is so very slowly melting, I have hope. And tomato seedlings. Those alone are making my day!

Border Time

I'm onto the border of my granny square blanket. Did you know that there's about a billion different border options? I'm not sure what one to pick...

Do you have a crochet border favourite?

Little Sheep Virtues
